Jess O’Brien has overcome a lot — the challenges of attention deficit disorder, the near bankruptcy of her beloved Inn at Eagle Point and her self-perception as a screwup in a family of overachievers. Now she’s ready to share the future with a man. Her friends persuade her to join a dating service — but she gets no takers! Which is fine with her childhood friend, psychologist Will Lincoln, who’s already chosen the perfect man for Jess: himself.

Will has loved Jess practically forever. He knows her faults and her strengths. But for all Will’s sincerity and charm, Jess fears he views her as some psychological case study. With her family and the town of Chesapeake Shores behind him, Will finally makes his case. But is it enough to convince Jess to take the risk of a lifetime?"

Read this book just after finishing 'Driftwood Cottage' Enjoyed seeing the characters in new roles to each other. I was interesting in the story of the girl who couldn't focus unless she wasn't interested in something - usually wanted something new rather than anything routine. The issue of attributing everything to her ADD by herself and by everyone else wh knew about her problem was interesting. Don't we all make a habit of using our problems and traits as the excuse for our actions. We also tend to blame the things we think are wrong about ourselves as the reasons that our friends and families behave a certain way toward us. Remember how we criticize ourself about things no one else notices.

A ver interesting novel that I would rate 4.5 Stars. (less)

Moonlight Cove A Chesapeake Shores Novel Sherryl Woods 9780778329794 Books Reviews

The large O'Brien Family of Chesapeake Shores is a fun loving family who care deeply for all their members and friends. I enjoy all the scenarios and interactions. This delightful book is about Thomas & Connie and Will & Jess.
I usually enjoy this authors books and characters, however her obvious lack of understanding in regards to Jess's 'ADD' was appalling. It was difficult to read due to the misrepresentation of this diagnosis. I would expect her to have done a bit more research. It was distracting from a story that may have been enjoyable but i could not get past the irritation enough to finish the book.
This was my first book written by Sherryl Woods. The plot was an excellant foundation for this storyline. The characters are well developed. The reading was brisk. The pictorial descriptions within the texture were well written.

The problem I have with this book is the author's lack of understanding ADD and the people who have been diagnosed as ADD. My son has ADD and is now an adult. There was too heavy of reliance on ADD and blaming everything on the character. Not everything can be traced back to ADD. The author used this diagnosis and catch all for everything. It is unfair to lump everything in ADD.

As a novice writer, if I am going to write about something I am going to be as knowledgeable as possible before I put myself out there in a piece of writing I am going to publish.
I've read several of these novels about the O'Brien's of Chesapeake Shores. I've concluded that they each meander along slowly and deliberately, and as much as I want to scream at these people to stop being idiots and tell one another how they feel, I am still compelled to read each novel. The characters are annoyingly stubborn. Yet I keep buying each sequel. Now who's the idiot...
I've become a Sherryl Wood fan! I have read 12 of her books and will continue reading more them. I like stories and don't need "hot loins" type writing. She tells the story of a family and all the aunts, uncles, siblings, and it 's an everyday life type book.
Moonlight Cove is the setting of the start and high point of a love story that is rare, but hopeful at the same time. Will is a psychiatrist, which is helpful in understanding Jess and her idiosyncrasies, but since he's been in love with her since he was 14, he knows her better than anyone else, including herself at times, and "gets" her. It's his patience and understanding that makes Jess fall in love with him. For someone with ADD, she's lucky to have Will to love all of her, faults and all. He loves her for who she is. The story also delves into the relationship of Thomas O'Brien, Mick's brother, and Connie Collins, Mick's son-in-law's sister. The end left me wanting to read more about both couples.
Moonlight Cove is the sixth book in Sherryl Woods’s Chesapeake Shores series. Readers who have followed the series will be pleased to see Jess, the youngest O’Brien sibling, get her chance at love. For new readers, this is not the book to serve as an introduction to the prolific Chesapeake Series. Much of the pleasure of seeing the conclusion of Jess’s story comes from understanding her history as the O’Brien who needs family members to bail her out of mistakes they attribute to her attention deficit disorder. Jess finally comes into her own as she forgives those who have hurt her and learns to trust herself and those around her.
